Caregivers

It’s hard to pour from an empty cup.

As a caregiver, we know you’re probably stressed and overwhelmed. You don’t need “one more thing” to deal with–and we get this. Our team of consultants is dedicated to partnering with you to provide tailored, strategic support that doesn’t drain you. Not only do we help you evaluate and improve your own childcare practices, we also alter your perspective through appreciative inquiry.

Our end goal? To help you navigate the difficulties of childcare for the benefit of your child.

In short: you’re in the lead here. We find this to be the most effective way to support you and your goals. We empower you to better care for your child by…

  • Actively listening to your day-to-day realities.

  • Synthesizing complex situations and creating a doable plan.

  • Developing systems and strategies to work smarter, not harder.

  • Advocating with you to support your child’s best interests.

  • Co-developing ideas to implement within your daily routines.

  • Coaching you on inquiry techniques to support you, your child, and the other caretakers and educators in your circle.

What We Offer

  • If you’re looking to level up, get organized, and strategize your next best steps as a caretaker, look no further. Together, we’ll design a plan using inquiry techniques to appreciate what is already working, so you can better serve the needs of your child.

  • When things are rocky, sometimes you need some last-minute support. Get in touch with us, and we’ll help you notice what’s happening, what’s working, and support you think differently. From there, we’ll guide you toward some ideas to consider.

  • Is your child having a hard time with their learning and you feel like you’ve tried everything? You should know that cognitive skills are the best predictor of academic outcomes. With MindPrint, you can discover why learning may be challenging or not challenging enough for your child, and discover how to advocate for and support. It's all based on brain science and understanding the how of learning. This 60-minute assessment will give you a MindPrint of the cognitive skills that are specific to your child and we'll support you to figure out–now what? With MindPrint A.I.R., you receive an assessment, inquiry, and reflection to guide the next steps. Together, we create a personalized learning plan for your child and discuss strategies for sharing this with others, including their educators, coaches, tutors, and whoever else is part of your child’s learning journey.

“My wife and I want to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for Jen Townsend at Universal Access Consulting. Her dedication and commitment to helping our family navigate the educational challenges faced by our 8-year-old son were nothing short of extraordinary.

Jen's approach was comprehensive and thorough. She conducted both in-home and in-school monitoring, ensuring that she had a complete understanding of our son's environment and the challenges he was facing. This holistic approach allowed her to provide insights and recommendations that were tailored specifically to our son's needs.

One of the most impressive aspects of Jen's work was her ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders at the school. She facilitated open and constructive dialogues, ensuring that everyone involved was working towards the same goal - the best possible educational outcome for our son.

Her expertise, patience, and dedication have made a significant difference in our son's education and overall well-being. We are grateful for her support and would highly recommend her services to any family in need of educational consulting.”

Tired of unsolicited advice that doesn’t address your child’s unique challenges?

It’s exhausting to be given this kind of feedback–and we know you get a lot of it.

At UAC, our consultants don’t tell you what to do. Instead, we act as your partner, using inquiry techniques to better understand your child’s unique strengths, current challenges, and learning goals. From there, we empower you to consider the big picture and figure out your next steps by drawing from your own ideas, experiences, and impulses as a caretaker.

In short: you’re in the lead here. We find this to be the most effective way to support you and your child.
